NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Over the weekend, the winds were much calmer... but we did still see some gusts up to 30 MPH. Monday and Tuesday will be very similar to the weekend.

Friday night the upper-level low responsible for our weather tracked into the Ohio Valley which brought quieter weather in for the weekend and will continue into this week. Monday, our clouds should thin out across our forecast area as we reach a low near 25 degrees again.

There is a slight chance to see some precipitation Sunday night into Monday morning.

Expect highs on Martin Luther King Day to be a little cooler than what we saw during the weekend... maxing out in the low/mid-40s. Chances for precipitation remain minimal will through the first half of our week. However, this will quickly change as we near the end of our work week when chances for snow showers return to the forecast.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler on Monday.

Temperatures will stay in the low/mid-40s through Tuesday when mostly sunny skies creep back into our forecast. Count on Wednesday being the warmest day of the week with highs reaching the upper 50s accompanied by mostly sunny skies. Thursday, temperatures will drop again but the sunny pattern will continue. Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures return to end the week on Friday.
