More clouds, light rain expected into Tuesday

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - More cloudy, cool, and wet weather is expected as we head into the day on Tuesday as low level moisture will keep light rain and clouds around.

Tuesday will be nearly the same to the weather we’ve had on Monday with light rain expected for parts of the area, including southwestern Nebraska through a good part of the day on Tuesday. Any moisture we do see is expected to remain fairly light through the day on Tuesday-- North Platte could see a trace to up to 0.10″ of rain. Higher amounts are expected across southwestern Nebraska, where they could see between 0.25″ and 0.75″ of rainfall.

This system is falling as snow in southeastern WY with some areas picking up 6-9″. Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for that direction through midday. With clouds and light rain, temperatures stay well below average by Tuesday afternoon as highs will range from the low 40s to near 60° across western Nebraska.

Temperatures will trend warmer as we head into the second half of the week and this weekend with afternoon highs jumping back into the 70s for North Platte and the surrounding area. Active weather looks to continue though as we’ll see daily chances for some showers or t’storms over the next week.
