NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - One of the main highlights of Nebraskaland Days is the food. The Sweet Saloon is proving to be a hot ticket this year.

As of Monday, orders for Tuesday and Wednesday have sold out, according to volunteers.

Up to 750 dozen rolls are expected to be baked this year. The cost for a dozen rolls is $18, a price that has not changed in the last 18 years.

“We feel like we could increase the rolls, but its just something we feel like if we can keep it at $18 and still make a profit, we’re going to do that,” said volunteer Sally Thalken. “Another thing that has really helped us is Hiland Dairy who has been a very strong sponsor over the last several years and when you have somebody like them, where we use some of their product, that helps keep the rolls at $18.”

Orders for Thursday are still available. You can place your order by calling 308-535-3696. Or visit www.mpcc.edu/sweetsaloon. The cost is $18 per dozen. Half-dozen orders will also be accepted. The money goes to help fund NPCC Lady Knight’s volleyball scholarship program.
