NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)-SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.(KNEP) - Strong to severe t-storms moved through last night, some with heavy rain. Most of the region picked up 2-3″ of rain, with some areas near Imperial picking up 3-5″ of rain. This is good news for those in severe drought south of I-80.

We had some showers moving through this morning, followed by decreasing clouds through the day and more sunshine by early evening. A northwesterly wind will really cool us down compared to the start of the week. Highs Friday and Saturday will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s across the region.

The weekend looks sunny for Saturday, but a few more clouds will be possible on Sunday with very isolated storms possible by the afternoon. We are back into the heat for Monday and Tuesday with a good amount of sunshine and highs in the low- to mid-90s. We have more chances for showers/t-storms for Wednesday and Thursday of next week, as we will be back to average temps with highs in the low- to mid-80s.
