A dual high pressure system is back in charge of our forecast until mid-week. When you see the two highs on the weather maps, you can expect lots of sunshine and warmer than average temperatures, and that’s what we have until Thursday. With sunny skies, highs Tuesday will be near 80, which is about 5 degrees above average for this time of year. It turns breezy for Wednesday and Thursday but still sunny; highs remain in the upper 70s to lower 80s east, and low- to mid-80s west. Then on Friday, most of the daylight hours look dry, but by evening, a system will give us a chance of showers, and maybe a rumble of thunder in our western counties.

By Saturday a cold front is making its way through with partly cloudy skies and a 30-40% chance of rain. Central NE is still in the warm air with highs in the mid-70s, but Western NE will be a lot cooler with highs in the mid-60s. By Sunday we keep partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and highs region-wide in the lower 70s. Monday expect more of the same with partly cloudy skies, a 10-20% chance of showers (the best chance east), and highs in the mid-70s.
